Sherwood Forest Golf Club

Founded in 1895, the original course was devised by Harry Colt, but like so many of the United Kingdom’s most mature and established layouts, Sherwood Forest was revised by James Braid. The Scotsman in fact believed that on completion it was as good as any inland course in Britain.

The course today is a mature blend of parkland and heathland, with a maximum length of 6,806 yards. Against a par of 70, this is a stern test, and with Sherwood Forest’s famously tricky greens, scoring is well is easier said than done.

This remains however, one of the area’s most beautiful courses, and one which should be experienced during your next golfing adventure in Nottinghamshire.
