- 1 Night Dinner, Bed and Breakfast at Owston Hall Hotel
- 2 rounds at Robin Hood Golf Course
1 Night, 2 Rounds
Owston Hall hotel is located within the picturesque grounds of a 147-acre estate in Doncaster, South Yorkshire and is situated in between two major motorway networks being the A1 and M62 which makes this hotel very accessible.
The hotel itself boasts 30 bedrooms and a fine array of food & drink options in the bar & restaurant or guests can go al fresco on the terrace whilst overlooking the drama of the closing hole.
The original 9 holes at Owston Hall were first established in 1922, but the journey was completed with the development of the second loop in the late 1990s. The resultant championship course has been well-received has hosted several PGA tournaments, and is revered as one of the region’s most outstanding layouts. The course, set in the historic parkland of Owston Estate, meanders through rare species of trees non-native to these isles.
1 Night, 2 Rounds
Close to 6,000 yards at is fullest length, Owston Hall is a stern test of golf, encountering mature oak trees and treacherous water hazards. The tenth hole is the star of the course, where golfers must only travel 351 yards, but must negotiate two strategically positioned lakes.
Over the years, significant changes have been made to the golf course to offer something for everyone. A Black tee option has been added meaning golfers can take on the really long golf course, or the much shorter yardage. No matter what level of golfer you are, there is something for you at Owston Hall.
Owston Hall is a terrific example of ‘risk/reward' golf and is characteristic of the enjoyable challenges at this South Yorkshire classic.

Owston Hall's 4* complex features 30 luxurious en-suite guest rooms, all specifically designed for an extremely comfortable stay. The 15 bedrooms incorporated in the old wing have been decorated individually, and reflect the character of the 17th century construction itself.
The remaining bedrooms are located in the Old Stables part of the hotel, which may not have quite the intrigue of the old wing, but is equally as comfortable. Excellent service is guaranteed at Owston Hall, confirming it as a good choice for a golf break in the north-east.
The Victorian style conservatory restaurant serves superb modern dishes, and offers great views over the surrounding golf course.
The hotel spa & gym are both currently closed for renovation, and will hopefully reopen later this year.

Saw some less than favourable reviews — but some times these reviews say more about the complainer and you really have to go and make up your own mind. We were very pleasantly surprised. Obviously it’s an older building so is not swish or cool. Just very comfortable. All staff were friendly and the meals were excellent. Best value for money we’ve had for ages.

16 ladies played the course and were pleased with the overall condition and layout. The greens were maintained to a very high standard. It was just disappointing to see there were no tees numbered making it difficult to be sure we were following the correct route. On asking why the numbers weren't present the answer was they are in the process of revamping the course and are waiting for new numbered signs. Surely it would be a good idea to place temporary numbers on the tees until these are put in place??

The course is excellent but the greens need some work, currently they are very hard with limited growth. I think the green keepers work hard to ensure routes around the greens are kept in good condition. Greens 11 to 15 through the gate are refreshing and interesting and make this course very enjoyable. Friendly staff and accommodation is value for money. Enjoyed the stay Penny & Wayne

There was no numbers on the Tee's The course has been changed and is not as good as last time I stayed. The fairways were non existent on some holes and this made it quite hard to get the best line. My GPS and my partners (both different types) did not work at all due to the changes. Finally there were millions of daisies both on and off the fairways, it appeared as no selective weed killer had been used this year.

It’s a course in the process of being upgraded but still fine to play on. Second 9 is the more interesting. Stunning selection of trees. Helpful pro shop.

A level course not too long so we as pensioners we were not too tired after 18 holes. The only criticism was that the tees were not numbered so to find the way round for the first time was not easy, and we had to check the card to see the map and check what the yardage was.
