It's a classic, tree-framed parkland layout where you'll score far better by picking sensible targets than by swinging out of your shoes. There's water throughout the routing too, so you're thinking about club choice not just from the tee but into plenty of greens as well.
If you're staying at the Gloria hotels, the logistics are easy. The Old Course is only a few hundred metres from Gloria Verde and about five minutes on the internal shuttle train or a short drive from Gloria Serenity and Gloria Golf Resort. With the New Course and the 9-hole Verde course on site, you've got genuine variety for a long weekend or a full week's golf without spending your holiday sat in a transfer.
It's also a venue with proper pedigree, having hosted events including the World Amateur and seniors-level tournament golf. So, while it's playable for most handicaps, expect a fair test in excellent condition, particularly on the Bermuda fairways and greens.
