Newmachar is one of the most prestigious golf clubs in Aberdeenshire, having hosted European Tour and international events. Home to two fantastic Dave Thomas-designed championship courses, the club is a true gem. Hawkshill and Swailend offer 2 different challenges for every golfer. With the introduction recently of their trackman range, Newmachar offers the golfer a great day out.
Challenging shots over water, raised tee areas, the Hawkshill course offers an Amercian style of course. The Swailend offers the golfer a relaxed walk, smaller in length but with big greens a great compliment to its big brother. With easy access to Aberdeen airport you must put Newmachar Golf Club alongside your Aberdeenshire bucket list courses and only 8 miles from Trump International, a great combo of golf.

The par 72 Hawkshill Course is among the most challenging in the region, and opened for play in 1990. Likened by many to an American layout, the course is actually a quintessential Scottish inland course, bearing similarity to the King’s Course at Gleneagles. Water and mature woodland form the predominant backdrop for the championship course, and the diverse test of the Hawkshill makes it a must play to compliment the fine links courses that Aberdeenshire has to offer.
1997 saw Newmachar add the Swailend Course to its armoury, and it has matured nicely. With the plantation of some 26,000 trees, the undulating countryside was transformed into a championship challenge. Though not as difficult as the tremendous Hawkshill, the Swailend Course has been a fine addition, and rounds off the outstanding Newmachar experience.
