Lykia Links

Lykia Links is one of the standout golf courses in Antalya and the only layout in the area that truly hugs the sea. It's also widely regarded as the Mediterranean's first purpose-built links-style course, which makes it a great shout if you want something different from Belek's more classic resort parkland.

Set across roughly 60 hectares, this 18-hole championship course is routed through sandy scrubland and low dunes, with the Mediterranean featuring throughout the round. The result is a proper shot-maker's course, especially when the wind gets up and you have to flight the ball and use the contours rather than firing at flags.

The course was designed by American architect Perry Dye, son of the legendary Pete Dye, and you can see that bold design DNA in the bunkering and shaping. There's plenty of width in places, but the misses can be costly, particularly around the greens where firm turf and run-offs bring imagination into play.

It's consistently rated as one of the best courses in Turkey and it's a brilliant option for golf groups who want a real change of pace during an Antalya break.

Who is this for? Golfers who want a links feel in the sun, groups looking to mix up the usual Belek rotation and anyone who enjoys dramatic coastal golf.

Who is it best for? Mid to low handicappers who like strategic, wind-affected golf and don't mind navigating pot bunkers and firm, running fairways.

Lykia Links

One look at the Championship Course at Lykia Links and you'll understand why this layout has made such an impression. Perry Dye has carved something genuinely special along the Mediterranean coastline, delivering a succession of holes that stay with you long after you've left Turkey.

The course bears more than a passing resemblance to Kingsbarns in places, with each hole individually sculpted and bordered by vast stretches of sandy scrubland. It's built as a links-style test, with firm turf, sandy waste areas and pot bunkers that can feel more Scotland than Turkish Riviera when the wind gets up.

The routing builds beautifully, but it's the closing stretch that defines Lykia. From the 13th tee onwards, you're playing through coastal dunes with the sea in full view, navigating a gauntlet of treacherous pot bunkers that demand both accuracy and nerve. I'll be honest, it's these five holes that I keep thinking about, especially if you catch a breeze off the sea. Each one is framed perfectly against the coastline, and they're as enchanting as any sequence you'll find in Mediterranean golf.

Dye has given you width in places but punishes wayward shots severely. The bunkering is strategic and penal in equal measure, the greens are firm and receptive to the running approach, and the wind, when it's up, adds another layer of complexity to club selection and shot shape.

This is the course that has put Lykia Links firmly on the map in Belek, a region already blessed with outstanding layouts. If you're planning a golf break to Antalya and want something that feels genuinely different from the resort parkland norm, Lykia Links delivers in spades.

We were originally really looking forward to this course as a welcomed break for the other "resort courses" we were playing. That being said, we realised when we arrived in Belek that it was a little further away than we thought - 35 minutes from Titanic Deluxe to Lykia World. As a result, I recommend either booking Transfers with YGT (we didn't) or using a local transfer company (not Taxis) to get there. We were quoted 45 euro each way in a Taxi and ended up getting a 20 euro each way transfer arranged locally. Once we got there however we were glad we made the effort. It was much quieter than all of the other courses so we had almost no waiting around. Whilst it is very much a Links style course to the eye, it doesn't always play like one due to the types of grass they need to use in the Belek area. That being said there are many of the Links characteristics and it was one of the more enjoyable of the 6 rounds we played. Despite the yellow tees having a 74 SSS we all actually scored pretty well considering many of the holes are into the sea breeze. I'd definitely recommend a visit if you can accommodate the transfer time into your schedule.
