Located in one of the most privileged enclaves on the Costa del Sol, La Hacienda Links Golf Resort is an exclusive golf club that invites you to enjoy a unique experience on two spectacular, world-class courses: Links and Heathland. With a total of 36 holes, both courses have established themselves as benchmarks for golf in Europe, thanks to their design and the stunning views that surround them.

The courses share the same stretch of rolling terrain as the revered layouts at Valderrama Golf Club, San Roque New Golf Club, Sotogrande Golf Club, La Reserva and many more of top golf courses in Spain

The Links course, the only links-style course in Andalusia and one of the few in southern Spain, offers an unrivalled course by the sea, with panoramic views of the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and the African coast. Awarded ‘Best Golf Course in Spain’ at the 2023 World Golf Awards, it is a gem for lovers of authentic golf. Its exclusive Halfway House, located between holes 9 and 10, was recognised as the ‘Best Halfway House in the World’ in 2024, consolidating its status as a benchmark in luxury golf.

The Heathland Course, designed by renowned former Ryder Cup player and architect Dave Thomas, offers a challenging and diverse par-72 course. Nestled among Andalusian hills and plateaus overlooking the sea, several of its holes wind their way through a valley with large lakes and narrow fairways, offering a true technical challenge in an incomparable natural setting.

With such an incredible grouping of courses, this region of the Costa del Sol makes for a golf holiday of outstanding quality. The Hacienda Links Golf Resort is part of the international European Tour Destinations network and has received numerous awards that rank it among the most outstanding golf resorts in Europe.

Golf Courses at La Hacienda Links Golf Resort

La Hacienda Links

The Links Course has a distinct seaside accent, which is understandable given that it was designed by the British duo of Peter Alliss and Clive Clark, and even features gorse bushes and heather. Imagine the joy of playing a Scottish-style links course, but instead of driving rain and wind you can be bathed in the Andalucian sunshine!

Recent development work has improved the overall quality of the Alcaidesa Links, making it even more of a highlight of any golfing tour to the San Roque area.

Signature Hole: Hole 5, Par 5, 467 metres (511 yards), SI 11

The 5th hole on the links is a memorable one, providing the golfer with breathtaking views over the Mediterranean to Gibraltar, and stretching even as far as Morocco.

La Hacienda Heathland

The resort proudly unveiled its second layout, La Hacienda Heathland, in late 2007. Winding its way across the great slopes of the estate, the Heathland is the perfect foil for the Links; it is longer and more challenging for the low handicappers, demanding a good grasp of all the games facets, from accurate driving to a tight short game. In an area that already boasts a number of outstanding courses, the Heathland has squeezed in thanks to the high quality of its design, and makes your trip to Alcaidesa even more memorable.

Alcaidesa is famed for its views down the coastline towards the Rock of Gibraltar - remember your camera!

Signature Hole: Hole 14, Par 3, 185 metres (202 yards), SI 6

The par 3, 14th hole played from an elevated tee, deserves its status as signature hole for its variety of natural landscapes. These include fantastic views over the sea, as well as mountains and valley areas twisting throughout the fairway. This hole is a fantastic showcase of the wonderful surroundings which Dave Thomas was able to use to great effect when intertwining them throughout the course.

Breathtakingly beautiful location, in great condition but a great test as you really have to ping some of your tee shots into blind fairways.

This course is all about the views of the coast and Gibraltar. Buggy is an absolute must. Not easy with blind holes, inconsistent grass mix in some areas and drainage issues from irrigation - probably a result of being full during the past few months. Overall glad we played it but not sure I would return.

My personal favourite as I loved the spectacular views along the coast to Gibraltar Easy difficulty with a few hard holes. They supplied safe deposit boxes in buggies as common with a lot of the courses in Costa Del Sol area there was potential for items to be pinched from the buggy where they are parked out of your eye line on tee's and greens. Thankfully we didn't have anything taken - but had to be on your guard and meant you couldn't fully relax.

The wind was up when we played it which made it play longer. You need to play this course more than once as you need to hit your ball into the right position and the depth perception on some holes can fool you into thinking it is shorter than you think. Very scenic course with the sea and Gibraltar as a backdrop

Great views of The Rock if no cloud or mist around. Many elevation changes so need a buggy. Tees in poor condition. I would not return to play this course.

We played the Links course. We found it difficult to get onto the par fours in two.largely due to the distance and also the wind which was quite a factor throughout the round. The views from most parts of the course are spectacular over the sea with Gibraltar in the near distance.Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Very hard links course when played for the first time. I would definitely play there again, even though I am not wild about links courses. Excellent shower facilities, which were appreciated as we were going on from the course direct to the airport.

Lovely course with fantastic facilities and views of course to Gibraltar. Super value for money in an expensive area but no "poor cousin" to its superstar neighbours. Thoroughly recommend.

My wife and I have played the Links course before, and it does not disappoint. It is well manicured and has some excellent views and with a incoming sea breeze some of the holes can be quite challenging. We enjoyed the round however there was a big down side. We teed off at 1030 and by the time we reached the 12th tee it was 1435. Basically the two groups of four in front of us could not play golf. One gentleman was playing his shots off the tees like a putting stroke and out of the four players only one seemed capable of getting the ball higher than six feet in the air. To cut a long story short we decided to call it a day after the 13th and came off the course. Alcaidesa either has to check for handicap certificates (which they did not ask for) or employ a course Ranger to monitor the situation and to look at the standard of golf being played.
