Golf Courses at Jumeirah Golf Estates Earth Course

Earth Course

The Greg Norman designed Earth Course is the latest offering from the Jumeirah Golf Estates and since opening for play in 2009 has quickly garnered a strong reputation as a top class championship course; a fact that is underlined by its hosting of the Dubai World Championships in its very first year. Fast forward to 2016, the stunning Earth Course still remains the host of the European Tour’s Race to Dubai and is strongly regarded as one of the most iconic courses on the European Tour schedule.

Measuring 7,706 yards from the tips, it is perhaps a good plan to leave the back tees to the tour pros and play from one of w selection of tees that make the course playable for golfers of all shapes and sizes. Fairways are generous so big hitters will enjoy giving it a rip with the driver, however, natural undulations on the course make for some tricky iron shots into huge, audaciously sloping greens. The rough and white sandy bunkers bordering the fairways and greens are fair and, if you stray even further off line, attractive redwood chippings make finding your ball easy while adding a degree of difficulty to your next shot.

The 18th hole at the Earth Course is often regarded as one of the hardest finishing holes in tournament golf, measuring over 650 yards from the back tees with a stream splitting the lingth of the fairway all the way up to the gren.

Stretching over 650 yards from the championship tees, the 18th hole is a true test of skill and strategy. The hole plays uphill from tee to green, with a meandering stream coming into play for the first, second, and often third shots.

Inspired by the natural elements of Fire, Earth, Water and Wind, and interwoven with tastefully designed homes, the four championship golf courses of Jumeirah Golf Estates are set to take their place among the world's most prestigious golfing developments.

Home of the DP World Tour Championship

As mentioned, The Earth Course has played host to the DP World Tour Championship since 2009 which also marks the European Tour’s Race to Dubai Finale formerly known as the Order of Merit. The DP World Tour Championship has one of the richest prize funds in golf.

A look back at the 2025 DP World Tour Championship
Matt Fitzpatrick won the DP World Tour Championship for the third time after defeating Rory McIlroy in a thrilling playoff at Jumeirah Golf Estates' Earth Course. After McIlroy forced the playoff with an eagle on the 18th, Fitzpatrick's par on the extra hole was enough to seal the victory.

A look back at the 2024 DP World Tour Championship
Rory McIlroy delivered a masterclass to finish the 2024 DP World Tour season, securing his third DP World Tour Championship title and sixth Race to Dubai crown. The Northern Irishman seized a three-shot advantage with four consecutive birdies from the second hole in the final round. Denmark's Rasmus Højgaard drew level at 13 under after McIlroy's mid-round slips, but crucial birdies on the 16th and 18th saw McIlroy secure a two-shot victory.

A look back at the 2023 DP World Tour Championship
Denmark's Nicolai Højgaard powered through the final round to clinch the DP World Tour Championship title. The Dane carded a spectacular final-round 64 (8-under par), finishing with a total score of -21 (267). Højgaard's victory was sealed by an incredible run on the back nine, which included five consecutive birdies from holes 13 to 17. This phenomenal finish was enough to secure a two-shot victory over a trio of top contenders: Ryder Cup teammates Tommy Fleetwood and Viktor Hovland, and overnight leader Matt Wallace, all tied at -19.

A look back at the 2022 DP World Tour Championship
Spain's Jon Rahm took home to the DP World Tour Championship title for the 2nd time. His 4-round total of -20 was enough for a 2 shot victory over Alex Noren and Tyrrell Hatton. Rahm's tournament included just 4 bogies with just 1 coming in the last 36 holes.

A look back at the 2021 DP World Tour Championship
Collin Morikawa was victorious at the the DP World Tour Championship as well as clinching the overall Race to Dubai, making history along the way by becoming the first U.S. player ever to win the tour’s season-long points title.

A look back at the 2020 DP World Tour Championship
Matt Fitzpatrick was the victor in the end of season finale in Dubai with a -15 total enough to claim the title over European Tour stalwart, Lee Westwood. The result ended with Westwood claiming the overall order of merit title, something he also managed to do in 1998, 2000, 2009, 2020.

A look back at the 2019 DP World Tour Championship
Spain's John Rahm claimed victory on The Earth Course with a closing round of 68 (-4) enough to take a 1 shot victory over Tommy Fleetwood who finished with a round of 65 in Dubai. Rahm's victory was well-deserved courtesy of stand out play throughout. His birdie on the last was enough to claim the win.

A look back at the 2018 DP World Tour Championship
The victory in 2018 for Danny Willett was an emotional one, with his first victory since earning his Green Jacket at The Masters back in 2016, it had been close to a 1,000 days that he had won on the Tour. This win didn't come easy either, having to chase off the likes of fellow Englishman Matt Wallace, Jon Rahm, and the 2018 Masters champion Patrick Reed.

Arrived to play all ,arrangements made by your golf travel ,time etc were spot on. Arrived and checked met by nice receptionist, our taxi had driven to the front door as the bag drop was not well signed. Having checked in we were left completely with no directions at all as to where to go. Going back the receptionist said she would arrange for the clubs to be picked up. After another 5 minutes we had to ask where the buggy and clubs where and directed outside of the club towards steps. On the steps no sign of a buggy but there was a line of buggies about 100 yards away and after asking more directions we were indicated our buggy was one in the far away line. No directions for range or putting green. We then found we were fixed up with a member and if we had not had him we had no idea of 1st tee etc. Once we got playing it was alright and found the course enjoyable.

Earth Course was disappointing. There is no comparison to Dubai Creek. Staff were not particularly helpful. Over priced for what you got.

Really enjoyed this course. There were 3 of us who played. We were teamed up with a member to make a 4 ball. They were helpful with tips around the course. We booked a 0810 tee but tee'd off at 0840. As the temp was 39* I would recommend as early a start as poss.
