Hollins Hall Golf and Country Club

Hollins Hall Golf Course is an excellent test for a wide variety of golfers. The par-71 layout is one that provides a host of elevated tee-shots and small greens to hit into for your approach.

As a regular stop on the local professional, PGA EuroPro Tour and amateur circuit, Hollins Hall is well set up for challenging golfers of all handicaps. The course utilises the mature Yorkshire countryside to create a golf course that features undulating fairways, well-placed water hazards and bunkers. With the greens and tees benefitting from being built to USGA standards, the course provides a positive year-round golfing experience.

Set within 200 acres with views across the Aire Valley and Yorkshire Dales, Hollins Hall certainly provides a picturesque golf experience. The short par-4 is framed by a Viaduct and provides a superb example of risk and reward golf with water ready to capture any shot hit right of the putting surface.

With a host of amenities including a dedicated short-game area as well a large driving range, those wanting to warm up properly prior to their round are going to enjoy what Hollins Hall Golf Course has to offer. With a well-stocked pro shop, any golfing essentials or even a lesson as part of your golf break are available.

A little tired overall, could do with some investment. The hair dryers blew out cold air.Othwerwise the room was okay, although not what I had specifically booked. It was recommended I toook it up with YGT. Couldn't be bothered at the time, just wanted to get settled after journey.

Nice rooms with comfortable beds and a good shower. The one thing that was disappointing was that the hotel shut the bar at 10.45pm on the sunday evening, so it ended up an early night all around!!

Before I start I read about this hotel on trip advisor and was not looking forward to it thankfully it was a load of rubbish what trip advisor said. Our stay at this hotel ( 17 of us ) was very enjoyable. There was not one who complained about the hotel. Bedrooms clean, beds comfortable. food very good, again no complaints from our party of golfers. Members of staff very helpful. Facilities very good.

A busy hotel with many separate functions while we were there and the staff seemed a little run off their feet. There were a few things wrong with our room which, although reported, were not rectified. Meals were limited to the Bar on the Hill which was part of the golf club section but had a limited menu.

Nice room but only one pillow each and one biscuit! Evening meal was in golf bar and not dining room. Pub grub really.£3.20 for cup of tea which was only teabag in cup. Not really grand experience I expect of golf hotel.

Just returned from a great golfing break at Hollins Hall. Setting is impressive and many of the holes provide fantastic vistas if surrounding countryside. Really enjoyed the course with most holes reachable for us 200 yard drivers but they were well defended by geography and undulating greens. Hire a buggy! Hotel rooms were great as were the friendly staff. Only down side was a wedding celebration which carried on noisily until the early hours. Would return to this venue in a heartbeat

10 friends having a catch up with the lads golfing and the girls using the spa. the course was challenging and in good condition but getting to the first tee involves an exhaustingly steep climb. Unfortunately the Saturday round was spoiled by the worst weather imaginable for July but we had better luck on the Sunday. The spa facilities were good but employ an archaic arrangement of having to pay for towels so take one from your room. Breakfast was good with a nice selection of hot and cold dishes. The evening meal main courses were rather bland which was a shame.

Hollins Hall Hotel is a beautiful period hotel with friendly staff, large rooms and really good food, especially the breakfast buffet. Great value for money.

The rooms and facilities in the hotel were fine. The staff went about their jobs but were very dour. We arrived and went to the bar and the people serving were so grumpy...when we asked for food it was if it was a major problem.

Five balls lost down the middle of the fairway tells the story. Very frustrating. Do not recommend playing in the Winter. Just does not drain at all. Like playing in a bog. Long course, but buggies available with strict instructions to stay on the path. Definitely a Spring/Summer course. It was suggested I book direct next time for better value. Green fees were £17.50.That means I paid £205 for a room with breakfast, which did not represent value. You live and learn

Considering the amount of rain that has fell of late the course was in very good condition.

All members of our party enjoyed the golf course it was in very good condition and the greens really good but very tricky to read. I would advise any golfer that a buggy is advisable especially if like us you are playing 3 rounds. All members said that they would like to play this course again with the tricky greens and the superb views and also the signature hole the viaduct, not too hard but a great hole to play.

Excellent service from the pro shop staff. The course itself was in excellent condition but tricky and hilly so don't expect to play to your handicap. The scenery was fantastic and we were lucky with the weather.

Hard course made worse by fierce wind!! Good fun though. Only gripe is that we were unable to play 3 holes as greens staff were working on them. We were not forewarned.

Short course but well defended by geography which required a number of well placed rather than purely long shots. Greens were main defended. True and in great condition but undulating

Great day, fairways could be cut shorter no run.overall a good challenging course we will be back.

as above it seemed fair with some nice holes but people should be advised about the climb to the first tee and that there is a similar (if not as long) climb near the end. signage on the course could be improved and whilst the weather was atrocious on the Saturday the half way house wasn't open either day.

Absolutely love this course. Large forgiving fairways but plenty of hazards and tricky greens to make it quite a tough course. Very hilly so definitely need electric trolley or to hire a buggy.

The only issue we had was Hollins Hall didn’t have any notifications of our buggy requirements for the 3 days. Fortunately they were able to accommodate us with some juggling on their part.
