Overall a very good resort with beach front location . Excellent staff and food quality. Upgraded to premium all inclusive which I felt was not good value for money

The trip, on the whole, was excellent. The course is beautiful and a real challenge, and is really well maintained. Unfortunately the back 9 was often closed due to water-logging (we weren't aware that the course often water-logged at this time of year) and often we weren't able to take buggies which was quite difficult as the course is long between tee and green. However, the overall experience was great and we would definitely return (although maybe later in the year).

First rate facilities with the friendliest and most welcoming staff. Fabulous food and drink, pretty much everything you could ask for on that front. Location is a bit isolated for walking around outside the resort complex. Strong current just offshore and lots of coral in the sand, so best advised to get some water shoes if you want to dip in the ocean. Spa is excellent!

Rooms were very comfortable and staff great. Savannah buffet restaurant very average and limited availability for other restaurants so make sure you book before you travel. The beach adjacent to the hotel is not suitable for small children due to a continuous very strong current and sharp, crushed coral underfoot. The watersports were only available for one day during our eight day stay due to high winds, tide conditions and speedboat broke down. So this is not a good choice if water sports are a priority for you. The weather was terrible and rained heavily on most days.

Well appointed accommodation with Garden view. Designed in such away that you feel secluded on the balcony. Beds very hard so if you suffer with this ask for a "soft topper". Service excellent. water sports non existent if you are not visiting during day time high tide as the lagoon is very shallow. Weather can be very fickle and the island does not grow so lush without a lot of rain. umbrellas provided by the hotel.

Very nice hotel, great facilities, perfect for families, couples and golfing. I choose it purely for the golfing. Your golf helped to organise everything. I was slightly concerned about a few reviews that claimed the hotel wasn’t a 5 star one. Not sure if they went to the right hotel, but it was certainly 5 star. Very nice finish everywhere. Only slight complaint would be with the drinks service everywhere. At breakfast plan 20 minutes before you want a drink and even more for evening meals. The staff are paid the bear minimum so they struggle to keep the good staff. I would go there again however

Most staff are amazing, one bad experience in a restaurant- but the manager made up for this and ensured we were happy again. Food is excellent, in fact the buffet is amazing so don't worry if you cannot get booked into the restaurants its not a bad thing! Adult only pool is a great idea and quiet and relaxed holiday can be had if that's what you want.

The position of the Awali Hotel is fantastic on the ocean, close to the golf course, and all restaurants, bars and swimming pools all have a sea view, as did our room. After a long flight and an early morning arrival the staff were very welcoming, but also very keen to persuade us to upgrade, book restaurants before we had even seen them and we were mis-informed about opening times of the main restaurant which hurried us into making decisions which were not in our best interest and added quite substantially to our cost. Our bedroom was a good size, rather tired in decoration, the open "walk in wardrobe" was in the bathroom which we thought did not assist with the outside humidity. The staff came to do turn down service at 6.30pm rather early as one of us was usually in the shower and we asked for a later time but staff changed and the message was not passed on. There was one main bar which served a lot of areas, and although there were plenty of staff, service was slow and if they were serving one or two tables any ice in your drink had melted if you were last to be served. The restaurants were well organised the "C Beach" restaurant offered for us, the best ambiance, attention by staff and variety of menu which was traditional Mauritian and lovely. The gardens and pool areas were very well maintained although at no time did we see anyone checking pool water. The other guests that we met helped enhance the experience within the Hotel.

Our ocean view room was very comfortable and the views over the pool and out to the beach and ocean were beautiful, just what you expect when you imagine Mauritius. The room was cleaned every day and the mini bar restocked as required. We found the the choice of food in the main restaurant adequate, nothing exceptional, but we certainly didn’t go hungry. One big disappointment was The Italian restaurant. The service was dreadful, we waited a full hour after our order before getting our main course. (We didn’t have starters). We could see others diners were also waiting a long time too. The meal itself was warm not hot but I didn’t send it back because I’d waited so long!

Quality from the moment you set foot on the premises. You're welcomed by the Caddy Master and by the time you've completed registration in the pro shop and got your shoes on, your bag is on a cart and ready to go. The driving range is under reconstruction, so currently with reduced facility, the chipping green is first class with scope to practice a range of shot types and the practice green is large and unusually true to the pace of the actual greens. The course itself presents plenty of challenges, asking for a range of shots. While I was there an unusually stiff wind made some of the holes a doddle to get near the green on par 5s in two while on some par 4s you're belting driver and squeezing everything out of a long hybrid just to get to the green in regulation. The strong winds may have skewed my opinion about the difficulty factor - your milage may vary. Some tight fairways with lots of risk/reward holes for when you're feeling good out there and want to go for it. Quality greens rolled true and subtle enough to make for some fun trying to read the breaks. Ultimately, it's the kind of course you won't get bored with and keeps you wanting to come back. Once you come off the course, you're greeting by a cooling towel to wipe down with and the Caddy Master can store your clubs for you on-course so no need to carry them back to the hotel. The nexy morning, your towel and clubs will be clean and ready to go. The patio bar and restaurant are excellent. Top drawer stuff all around.

Great golf course with some very interesting and challenging holes. My son and I are both keen golfers (8 and 12 handicaps) and we both rated the golf course highly. Holes are all independent from each other. The whole golf course is very manicured with squadrons of local workers constantly weeding and brushing up stuff which made us feel slightly uncomfortable at times. Otherwise really good and it stood up to torrential rain quite well although on three days due to the heavy rain we were not able to take a buggy and had to walk. This was fine for us but would be a challenge if your fitness isn't great. The golf clubhouse is great with a good restaurant overlooking the 18th.

A magnificent golf course with really nice views, fairway always seem give good lie. Greens had been hollow tyned just before we arrived but improved as the week progressed. We did get caught out with warm rain of biblical proportions so take your UK umbrellas with you. As 22 and 32 Hcp golfers we found this course interesting and encouraging by playing from the blue and red tees respectively. There are several other tees to play from which increase the challenge for lower handicappers.

Great course, beautiful to play on and perfect condition. Will definitely go back to play there again, I didn’t lose many balls the 5 times I played there but some people I played with did and wished they had taken more balls with them. Cannot find anything bad to say about the course, also the buggy’s had a swish gps style ipad built in so you can see how far everything is. Very cool

I think the course is going to be tougher is you are Hcap 20 and above - its not long so I played off the whites and managed well ( off 17). One of the best courses I have ever played and maintained very well throughout.

The caddiemaster and his staff were polite helpful and looked after us and our clubs throughout our stay. the staff ensured we went out with dry towels and plenty of water and the cold towels at the end of the round were most appreciated. Heavy rain on the day we arrived prevented us playing 2 holes on our first round of golf and a cyclone of our 3rd round of golf prevented us from playing although we did manage to play 9 holes with a buggy on our last day. The back nine holes were trolleys only due to wet conditions. We played a fourball on the first day and had completed in under 4 hours which for a resort course we think is extremely good. Our second 4ball was slower but an acceptable pace. Our last 9 holes our playing partners did not turn up so we had a 2ball which did mean were were waiting playing behind a 4ball. We did notice that a number of people although with booked tee times and buggies ready for their use did not turn up, and we did play of earlier on two occasions. Perhaps now people are paying as they play and not in advance they may just decide to not turn up and they had not informed the club? The bar and food at the golf club were of a high standard. We would also like to mention Emotions the transport service from airport to Hotel, they were on time helpful, informative and attentive. Our thanks to Your Golf Travel once again. The course was a good challenge and very interesting. Each hole was different which meant that we did not get bored with the course itself. Unfortunately, the pull trolleys were very difficult to manoeuvre through the Bermuda grass and the fairly steep hills, plus they are approx £10 each to hire! There are no electric trolleys and despite the fact we prefer to walk, we had to hire a buggy for 5 of our 7 rounds. The organisation at the golf club was very poor. On our final round we turned up in plenty of time for our 9:44am tee off, only to be told we were due to play at 8:48am. They rescheduled the tee times because of a competition, but failed to contact us to let us know, although they knew our room number. We were not the only players to experience this communication mess up. We did get out to play but it was our slowest round as there were so many players having to be slotted in due to the inefficient organisation. Also, because of this competition, which was not advertised at anytime during the week, the restaurant was reserved for the competitors so we could not have lunch, just a quick drink at the bar. It was such a shame to end our holiday on this bad experience, we had enjoyed the course and sitting out on the terrace having lunch with playing partners.
