Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club is one of the world's oldest golf clubs. Dating back to 1793, this delightful Scottish Links golf course is recognised as the 15th oldest golf club in the world.

Golfers visiting Inverness are well recommended to play here with the course just 20 minutes from the city and offering amazing views over the Moray Firth and on a clear day towards its opposite neighbour, Cabot Highlands.

The course was redesigned by James Braid in 1932 with the course measuring 6,085 yards from the championship tees with a par of 71. The course has been the host venue of numerous Scottish amateur championships highlighting the challenge afforded by this well-regarded traditional links golf course.

Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club has received many notable awards including Scotland's Best Golfing Experience (value for money), Ranked in the Top 5 in GB & Ireland's Favourite Fun Golf Courses and also considered to be in the Top 50 Golf Courses in Scotland.

Fortrose & Rosemarkie Golf Club

The greens are not just fast but also deceptive, with tight fairways and strategically placed bunkers throughout the course – the trademark of the all-time master of bunkering, James Braid. Whilst the course is playing to its full capacity, members, their guests and any golfers visiting our links can play from ANY of our Tees. The choice is your own so you can of course play from the Yellow, White or the Black tees which will add to the experience of playing on a true Scottish Links Golf Course. Ladies are advised to play from the RED tees. Visiting Golfers with a higher handicap are advised to play from the Yellow or White Tees.

With a strong wind, playing the par is difficult. Very beautiful, with views on the sea.
