Nice hotel - friendly staff

We were advised by the hotel website that there was work being undertaken at the hotel so the Spa was shut. It would have been nice if yourgolftravel informed us of this at time of booking but the hotel, staff, food, room and golf course were all very good and we had an enjoyable weekend, so overall we're happy.

The hotel & bar/restaurant staff made us feel very welcome. The rooms are very clean & tidy. The only thing I would suggest, change the coffee bags in the rooms to granules (they make very weak coffee)

Excellent shower room and spacious accommodation. The hotel throughout was far too hot and we needed to use air-con in our room. The bar and restaurant was very noisy and too hot to be comfortable. Good food for dinner and breakfast. Overall great value for money but with a few foibles.

Booked double with upgrade to suite,on arrival after round of golf,shown that suite 415 up 3flights of stairs with cases!!!only to find instead of Golf course view,view of building site!!! Asked for room change and had to move 2 blocks to room 228,to standard room,but with view of practice putting green. Disappointed after asking for suite. Meals in restaurant took over 30 minutes to get served 1st course,and almost 45 minutes until we got our main,not enough staff serving and in the kitchen. Plus the on going building work,this place will be better in 6 months time,but a bit of a disaster for us o.j. our wedding anniversary. To add insult Your Golf offers £25 voucher if we spend £1000 on next booking,presumably to Wentworth for a week ?

Sadly the rooftop hot tub was out of order. Rooms, food and drink were excellent. Lovely welcome at reception, service from bar and catering staff not so good.

We had a one night stay to play golf and, although you need to be wary of rooms adjacent to the new building work, the room was well equipped and comfortable with views over the course. The restaurant was clean and the food good. Drinks well priced and a good breakfast choice. I am not sure why this had bad reviews, unless we were just lucky however we will be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed this stay in a lovely hotel and the golf course was very good. Rooms were very roomy and clean. Great showers! Food menu needed more variety on offer to make this first rate. Slightly more a golfers menu! Likewise staff to deal with the numbers in the restaurant.

Lovely old course that is currently undergoing further improvements, which in no way impact on the enjoyment. Greens and tees fantastically well kept. There really are some memorable holes. The Par 3 second is wonderful. Great rooms in the hotel. Plentiful food in the restaurant also. Very attentive staff too. Fantastic value weekend.

Reception staff very welcoming but bar staff and restaurant staff seemed bored and do not appear interested in the clients. Room very comfortable but bar area looked very tired. Food at lunch time was poor and the evening menu was limited but nice except they should put fish in the fish cakes Spa not working.

We booked this as part of a golf trip for 8. Loved every minute of our break. Extremely friendly and warm staff. superb service, spacious accommodation, great challenging golf course very well maintained and to round it off the spa, steam room and Hot Tub. Thank you Yolanda for looking after us. we will be back.

The trip to the Cotswolds Golf and Spa was great and well worth it. 8 couples were in our group. The Hotel was very nice. The first evening meal wasn’t that great but the second suited us all fine. The breakfast were great and the 20% off bar charges was even better!. The hotel is expanding and building two or three blocks of rooms. Some of our group complained about the noise but if they sleep with the patio door or window open backing onto gravel, you will hear everything. All in all a great trip and great value for money

The hotel was clean, smart clubhouse . The evening menu was limited but portion sizes were big.

Hotel was fine we stayed one night. Annoying to be put by the stairs and lobby meant an early wake up call which we didn't want. Don't go expecting fine dinning or good pub food. It was just average pub grub, with some more thought and care the food could be good which would add to the experience. Overall for a night it was fine, good location nice view of the course, comfy bed

very good rooms nice bar over all 9 out of 10 some of the main course at dinner was not up to standard.

The hotel is fairly modern but is combined with the golf course. It is OK for golfing groups but would not suit a weekend away for those who require a swimming pool as there is not one. The food is of a below pub standard, the drinks are expensive but there is a full range to suit all tastes.

I found the accommodation to be exactly what was portrayed on the website

We were on a 2 night all inclusive golf break very good golf course well maintained excellent helpful staff. Breakfast and evening meal were well cooked and the Barman did an excellent job serving both drinks and looking after the dining room. We will definitely recommend a return visit

Great reception. Good evening staff. Very good evening meal. Disappointing lunchtime experience. Bathroom not properly cleaned.

Our room was quite adequate for an overnight stay, NIce and bright, clean and tidy, sufficient hanging space and handy for bar, reception and restaurant. Restaurant quite limited in choice but in fairness there did not seem to be many visitors present and the restaurant was quite empty. Staff very friendly and helpful. A compact and decent place to stay. Great views and went through some lovely old typical English villages en-route. Plenty of car parking. Lots of building work in progress at the moment, looks as if this will provide some lovely accommodation in due course.

Very good accommodation well maintained and comfortable. Bulding work for extensions on going but did not deter enjoyment. All members of the party very happy!!

We had a really good couple of days. The course was in good condition and the greens were very good. The male staff were very helpful and friendly, unfortunately two female members of staff were not. After playing our round we went to the bar and ordered drinks. The Carling lager ran out and the female bar person asked if I would like something else and was put out when I said I would wait for the barrel to be changed even though she had to ask a male bar person to change it. At breakfast I had to ask a waitress if should could get some more fried eggs as they had run out. This again seemed to be a problem. After our round of golf we went to the bar for something to eat and drink. The female bar person (the same one as at breakfast) poured our two drinks but put them on the bar in front of her, about 2 yards from where we were standing, unusual thing to do. I paid for the food and drinks using Visa contact less to pay and when I asked for a receipt the female bar person through it on the bar. I thought that was very impolite as she should have handed it to me. These things won't put me off from returning but were a little annoying.

Lovely hotel...friendly staff...clean and comfortable room... Food very good, great portions. Very convenient to explore beautiful surroundings of the Cotswolds, and to enjoy the golf course. Not informed when booking about the building of new apartments adjoining the hotel, but this did not spoil our experience. Definitely stay again.

The hotel was in a lovely location, we were upgraded to a suite overlooking the golf course which was beautiful. The rooms were modern, great decor, and facilities. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, and the food was reasonably priced. The spa was closed for the winter but that was ok with us as we were there to play golf.

On entering our room we were pleasantly surprised to find our accomodation was spotlessley clean and very comfortable. There were tea/coffee available in room if needed. Our room overelooked the golf course which was a pleasent surprise. The staff were extremely helpful and made us feel so welcome.

This is an excellent venue for a golf stay. Staff, food and rooms were great. Course is a good challenge, hopefully it will recover well from the hot summer weather.

Excellent value for money golf break in a very good hotel with large and modern rooms. Walk in shower room was superb for 2 aching golfers. The 3 course meal in the evening was one of the best I’ve had in any hotel. Only downside was no proper decaf coffee and hot water boilers that were poor. Overall, I would thoroughly recommend.

In general really pleased with the hotel, its modern,the room were clean the beds nice and comfortable. An added bonus was our room had a great view over the golf course. Would definitely recommend this hotel and hopefully return in the future.

The Accommodation, food and facilities were good. The only criticism was concerning breakfast and the consistency of the messages given to me with reference to breakfast. On arrival at the club on Friday where we had some food before teeing off, we enquired about what time breakfast would be on the Saturday morning because we had a fairly early tee off time of 8.28am. We were told by the barman that breakfast was served from 7am, which of course would be ok. We played our afternoon round and then checked in. At check in we were advised that breakfast would be served on Saturday from 8am, to which I informed the check in staff that a) we had been advised by the barman earlier that it was from 7am and b) if it was 8am how on earth had the Club allocated us a 8.28 tee time which clearly would not give us enough time to have breakfast and be on the tee in time to play. The Check in person asked me who was the person that had told me 7am. I told him that I did not know his name. He said he would look into it and see what he could do. He called me when I was in my room circa 15 minutes;later and informed me that he had moved our tee times to 8.44 and 8.50am which was the best he could do. I thanked him. Later when we were ordering Dinner I spoke to the waiter that I still had a concern that we would not have enough time to have our breakfast in the morning and asked if we turned up at 7.50am could we have it 10 minutes earlier than the 8am start. He thought this would be ok and would leave a message for the Breakfast staff. We turned up at 7.50 and whilst we could help ourselves to coffee and cereal etc no hot food was available until 8.05am. At 8am I had to go and find out why the hot food was not on time. Whilst we had been given a slightly later tee off we still had to hurry our breakfasts. A pity because everything else was good. Would I recommend the Hotel and Golf? Yes, as long as they allocated any tee times at least an hour after breakfast is served.

The hotel and food were excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. The golf course was in very good condition and greens very fast.It is suitable for players of all handicaps and I would certainly recommend it.Thank you John Paul for all your help.

A very enjoyable round of golf. A good variety of holes. Challenging but not ridiculously so.

This time of year we had 4 temporary green and two par 5's were shortened to Par 3's but overall a very nice course. Would like to play it in the Summer.

This course was ideal for our society because we have players with handicaps between 6 to 25 & it was possible for all to score. All the guys enjoyed our two days stay.

A reasonably challenging course for 20 handicappers. Some very nice variations in layout which makes it memorable. Very good greens which were on the fast side but true. Penalising rough and trees if leaving the fairway. A great course overall but very worthwhile for a 2-day visit.

Lovely location and course in great condibtion,downside a 4 ball members group were dreadfully slow and wouldn't let us through,3 hours to play 9holes,so we walked off on this our second days round,no etiquette.

Lovely course, well maintained with some interesting holes. Well worth a visit.

We visited as a mixed group of 4 with handicaps from 6 to 30. We found this to be a good layout with some water and elevation changes but not too difficult to walk. The first par 3 stands out as does the final par 5. The greens were very good and well maintained with a nice smooth roll on the ball. Very good value for money and an enjoyable couple of rounds. Shop not well stocked but a lot of money is being invested here so one to revisit in the future.

Very pleasant round with no queuing at each hole. Pace was very good although greens seemed medium pace. The course was well maintained by the ground staff. Golf-pro was helpful and very accommodating to requirement. Super clubhouse. Only comment would be lack of sign boards for each hole as one a few were noted that gave this information. Would play this course again.

We had a very enjoyable Two rounds of golf . The course was in very good condition with very lush greens.

The course was in excellent condition and best described as average to hard, the greens were challenging and again in excellent condition. There is some building work being carried out that impacts effects a little on the 18th fairway. We had an excellent stay just a shame about the bar/restaurant staff

Very nice course. Not too long off the Yellow tees. Three greens have been changed making the two holes a bit longer and one a bit shorter. At the moment most distance measuring devices haven't been updated.

Very pleasant course with many interesting holes, a lot of work being done on the course but overall a great venue

Enjoyed the course. Little frustrating, that as always slow play kills a round for me. I do play on my own, so will be quicker but nobody let me play through which spoilt it. Again it depends on the day and who's in front of you Course was in good condition, challenging, but not overly, could attack the short holes but the par 5s caught me out as well as the trickier par 4s Overall I would recommend for a one night break.

interesting course most of the holes were very good some new greens which were quite slow this course for the older golfer is very hilly.the club has a lot of buggies,so for us it was great.

The course has been there for around 130 years and is extremely mature. Building work was going on at the time we visited but when it is finished I am unsure that the course will be able to handle all the traffic that the extension will bring. The course itself is superb with constant work being carried out on the course. 3 new greens have been laid and in time these will be integrated into the course. The pro shop is small and has a limited selection of everything. The staff that man it are friendly and helpful and if ordered early enough can assist.

We were held by a couple of young men who find golf difficult and were put out behind a men’s four ball society who kept us waiting a lot

Enjoyed the course but very disappointing greens. Disappointed that we had not been told that the courseworks on the first and ninth holes had not been fully completed.

The course was nicely laid out, a few areas of GUR, greens rather slow as was the pace of play. However, generally the course was in very good condition and we enjoyed playing it. The most frustrating thing was the pace of play. We are a fairly competent and steady moving pair. On the first day we started off really well until catching up with a visiting 4ball about 6th or 7th hole. Even though they could see us waiting on every shot there was no courtesy extended. Similar experience the next day, a members 3 ball. Probably added 30 mins to our round. No common courtesy. Spoiled the golf really,very frustrating waiting to play every single shot. Never mind, we would return because surely we could not be that unlucky twice!!

Very interesting and attractive course. The first round was very slow due to the high number of players. The next two days were fine with very few delays. Overall we were very impressed.

Fairways excellent with greens quite fast. Overall a very good course. NB consideration is given to the fact of improvement works being carried oou but this did not affect enjoyment.

We had an easy run on our first round. We weren't held up in any way, completing the 18 holes in 3 1/ hours. However we were held up by the seniors on the second day, completing the 18 holes in 4 hours 15 minutes.

Some new greens still settling in. Seem to be making several improvements.

Beautiful course ...some remodelling being completed but did not spoil our experience. Stunning scenery enjoyed... as well as really well kept greens. Green keepers very friendly..and happy to engage with us. Golf professional not so welcoming. Clearly course was being transformed in parts during our stay but still a great experience. Will definitely play again... well recommended.

We enjoy playing on this course. We are beginners so the course was challenging with some interesting holes. Some of the signs to the tees had been removed so it took a bit of time to get our directions. Overall our golfing experience at the Cotswolds course was very good.

Upon my arrival at the golf shop, I spoke to the pro to see if he could get me an earlier tee time and he was very obliging. He managed to team me up with three members and I shared the use of a buggy for the first round. The members were very friendly and made me very welcome. Giving me advice on each hole as we played. Great bunch of lads. The following morning the Pro again managed to team me up with three other members who were playing in club competition and this time we walked the course. The course along with the greens was in very good condition for December and this is a credit to the grounds staff. Some tough holes and back to back par 5's were interesting. Overall a good course and one in which I'd recommend playing.

A really good challenge.

Unfortunately the weather was wet for mid October and both rounds were hampered by heavy rain or drizzle. The greens were still in great condition and playable. The fairways had suffered from the hot, dry summer but were recovering. That said, it didn’t really affect the golf. 2 good days, enjoyed by all.

It was easy to see that the hot summer had taken its toll on the fairways, but the greens were in good condition and many of them a fair challenge. The only complaint we had was that it's not that visitor friendly in respect of tee markers and directions to next tee box. We were a bit unlucky with the weather out first day was very windy, and the second day we was rained off so we couldn't get out on the course. The weather obviously no fault of the golf club.!

Good course and a good test of Golf. Too many blind holes and not enough bells to ring to advise the group behind they can play.
