7 Nights, Unlimited Rounds
Constance Belle Mare Plage is the sort of Mauritius resort that works whether you're travelling as a couples' escape, a golf society week or a family trip where everyone needs something to do. You're set on the north-east coast within a 150-acre palm-lined estate, with a long sweep of sand out front and plenty of space so it never feels crowded.
The big draw, though, is that you get proper golf on tap. Between the Legend and Links courses, this is one of the best-known golf resorts on the island, with a track record of hosting Seniors Tour events and now LET tournaments, which tells you everything about the standard. If you want a trip that genuinely blends top-level golf with a beach holiday, this is the model.
It also helps that the rest of the resort is built for switching off after your round. The Shiseido Spa is a standout, there's a strong choice of restaurants and bars, and the lagoon is ideal for watersports, from kayaking and sailing to diving and parasailing. If you're bringing the family, the kids' club (ages 4 to 11) is a real bonus, and there's plenty of sport on land too, including tennis and squash.
If you're looking at an all inclusive holiday in Mauritius where the golf is as memorable as the beach, Belle Mare Plage is hard to beat.
Who is this for? Golfers and groups looking for a high-end, all-inclusive resort holiday that combines two championship courses with a stunning beach, top-tier spa facilities and a full range of water sports and leisure activities.
Who is it best for? Couples and families who want a relaxed, luxury escape with serious golf, plus anyone chasing a long-haul Indian Ocean experience where the courses, beach and service all deliver at the highest level.

The Legend Course is the crowing glory of Belle Mare Plage's golfing arena, and was designed by South African Hugh Baiocchi. The course skirts one of the island's most idyllic beaches, and is carved through the wildlife-rich forests of Mauritius' east coast.
Baiocchi's concept was realised by a construction process in accordance with USGA guidelines, and its greens are renowned for their slick surfaces. Each hole is truly unique around this most amazing course, from the legendary layout to the views of the famous Mauritian coastline.
The Legend course is ranked as one of the best courses in Mauritius

Added to the Belle Mare Plage Resort in 2002, the Links Course measures over 6,500 yards, and was designed by Rodney Wright, in conjunction with golfing legend Peter Alliss. The par-71 layout has matured nicely since its inauguration, and has helped to ease the traffic around the famous Legend Course. The same water features and woodland help to provide beauty and challenge. With the club house in sight, golfers have to hold their nerve to carry the water that guards the final green at this magnificent resort course.
Pluck up some courage at the Legend's 17th - the island green is perched atop a volcanic outcrop, bathed in the beautiful aquamarine of the Indian Ocean.

Accommodation ranges from 92 refurbished sea-facing Prestige Rooms to 137 Sea View Suites, with balconies or terraces across the board and every room facing the Indian Ocean, so you're waking up to water views each morning. If you're travelling as a couple, the Prestige Rooms are ideal for a comfortable base between beach time and tee times, with air-conditioning, satellite television, direct dial telephone, safe deposit box and a dedicated seating area to spread out your kit.
The Sea View Suites give you more breathing space with a separate seating area and a whirlpool bath, which is exactly what you want for proper post-round recovery after walking 18 holes in the Mauritian heat. The extra room also makes them a better fit for families or if you're the sort of golfer who travels with a lot of gear and likes having somewhere to dry things out overnight.
For groups or families who want privacy and their own space, the 20 Garden and Beach Pool Villas are the step up, especially if you like having your own pool and more of a 'villa living' feel between rounds. These sit slightly apart from the main resort buildings, so you get that bit more seclusion while still being close enough to walk to the clubhouses, restaurants and beach. The villas work particularly well for golf societies or extended family trips where you want communal space in the evening but your own retreat during the day.
The Presidential Villa sits right on the beach with uninterrupted sea views and is the top-end option for a true special-occasion trip, whether that's a milestone birthday, anniversary or just a bucket-list golf holiday where you want the full luxury experience.
Proximity to the golf is straightforward. Both clubhouses are within easy reach of the accommodation, either on foot or via a quick buggy transfer if you prefer, and the resort is set up to handle early tee times with takeaway breakfast options and flexible dining if you're heading out at first light. There's also plenty of secure storage for clubs in the rooms and villas, so you're not tripping over your travel bag all week.
Service around tee time logistics and restaurant bookings is quick and genuinely friendly, which matters when you're trying to coordinate a group or just want to make sure everything runs smoothly without having to chase people down.
Dining at Belle Mare Plage is varied and high quality, with enough choice that you won't get bored over a week-long stay. La Citronelle is the main beachside restaurant, perfect for relaxed meals with your feet almost in the sand, while the Blue Penny Café Gourmet Restaurant offers a refined a la carte menu and is worth booking in advance during your stay if you want a proper sit-down dinner with a bit more polish.
For traditional Mauritian dishes, head to the Deer Hunter restaurant, located inside the Legend clubhouse. It's a great spot to refuel after your round, especially if you want to try local flavours like venison curry, palm heart salad or the island's signature rougaille without having to leave the golf precinct.
If you prefer something more casual, Indigo Beach, Le Swing and La Kaze serve sandwiches, salads, grilled dishes and pizzas throughout the day, so you can grab a quick bite between rounds or if you're coming off the beach and don't want to sit down for a full meal. There are six separate bars dotted around the resort, so you'll always find somewhere to grab a drink, whether you're coming off the course, lounging by the pool or watching the sunset from the beach.
The Shiseido Spa is focused not only on cosmetic beauty but a total goal of complete wellbeing, offering treatments aimed at harmony of body and mind. The nearby health and fitness centre boasts a sauna, steam bath, plunge pool, jacuzzi and an aerobic studio which schedules classes including yoga, so there's plenty to do if you want to balance out the golf with some recovery work.
There's a Constance Kids Club for ages 4 to 11, which is a real bonus if you're bringing the family and want the adults to get their golf in without worrying about keeping the kids entertained. The club runs structured activities throughout the day, so younger guests are looked after while you're out on the course.
The beach itself is ideal if you like your beach days with a bit of action. Water sports on offer include kayaking, sailing, water skiing, windsurfing, scuba diving, parasailing and sport fishing, with most activities included as part of the all-inclusive package. You can also take a complimentary glass-bottom boat trip to see the underwater tropical wildlife up close, which is worth doing at least once during your stay.
On land, there's tennis, squash and boule if you want to stay active between rounds, and the resort's layout means you're never more than a short walk from the beach, pool or main facilities.
Service levels are quick and genuinely friendly, especially around tee time logistics and restaurant bookings, which is why Belle Mare Plage has built such a loyal following among golfers returning year after year. It's the kind of place where staff remember your name and preferences, and where the whole operation is geared around making sure your trip runs smoothly without you having to think about the details.
The resort sits on the north-east coast of Mauritius, approximately 60 minutes by road from Sir Ramgoolam International Airport, or just 15 minutes if you opt for a helicopter transfer. Direct flights from London with British Airways or Air Mauritius take around 12 hours, making this an accessible long-haul destination for UK golfers chasing winter sun and world-class golf.

It began with a complimentary upgrade to beautiful junior suites next to the Serenity Pool beside the beach. It was perfect for a party of four lady golfers on the all inclusive deal. The staff were welcoming, very efficient and could not be more helpful. Alvin in The Bar deserves special mention, surely a future manager. The variety and standard of food was excellent including choices for those with special dietary requirements. We took advantage of the variety of treatments at the Spa, quite expensive but well worth it.

Some issues in the bar with poor service in the bar but rectified very promptly after we complained. Food could be better not always hot enough and not much variety over 2 weeks.

The all inclusive deal here was excellent. Main buffet offering was wide ranging and imaginative. Lots of choice and themes. The other restaurants are also good but we mainly had the main buffet. Wines were excellent, very much better than we expected and the restaurant staff were knowledgeable, Beach is good and swimming pools well designed. Staff excellent throughout, really enjoyed the stay.

Probably our favourite. It was in better condition overall with better greens. Worth the short regular shuttle from the hotel. Our clubs were taken to the course to be played the following day.

Tropical rainstorms before we arrived meant the first nine holes were not open for play so we took pull trolllies and played the second nine. This was a challenging but beautiful course which we enjoyed later in the week.

This was my favourite of the 2 courses at Belle Mare. Short bus ride but worth it. Transfers were regular. Plenty of golf balls needed for this testing golf course

Wider fairways make this the easier course but still really enjoyable. Several blind approach shots but they didn’t take away the enjoyment. Easy booking system and great staff at both courses.

Not a course to play with jet lag! Tight but challenging drives off the whites, a very good holiday course. Lost 8 balls on first morning, a record for me. We took 3.5 hours for a mixed four ball. The ladies won every time!

Perhaps a slightly easier golf course than Legends and again great facilities.

Good golf course that can be difficult when the wind blows with plenty of water. Beautiful clubhouse and facilities. Slight issue occasionally with booking tee times and then arriving at course to find them trying to alter the arrangements.

Easier of the two courses but the greens run off and there are very few flat surfaces to play off of, so a different challenge.

Excellent top quality golf course, be aware there are a lot of water hazards and the course is very narrow at places. Accuracy is rewarded, and finding fairways is key.
