Accommodation at Chateau de la Begude

The Château de la Bégude is one of the jewels of the Riviera, situated in Valbonne, close to Cannes and Mougins on the Côte d'Azur. Nice and Cannes airports are just 20 minutes away by car, but you would never know it.

The peaceful little enclave of Opio enjoys a wonderful microclimate and beautiful natural surroundings - which is the main reason Château de la Bégude is one of the oldest and most revered wine producers in the area.

Constructed of the seventeenth century, this regal hotel has 34 luxurious rooms and suites decorated in classic Provencal themes, offering a superb base to enjoy some of the area's best golf courses such as Opio Valbonne, Grande Bastide and Cannes-Mougins, and then relax and unwind in the evenings. They are not only stylish but also well-equipped, and come with air conditioning, satellite TV, direct dial phones and mini bar as standard.

Two different restaurants are available: the gourmet "La Bégude" and the "Le Ciste" brasserie. The menus highlight the produce from the region, blending taste, elegance and simplicity. Le Ciste is open for lunch all year round and for dinner on Sundays and Mondays, while La Begude opens every evening except on Sunday and Monday.

We have stayed at Begude before and they obviously keep a record of that so gave us a room superior to the last one. The previous one was adequate but the room this year was much better and in the main chateau. At this time of year the eating options are limited with only high price gourmet restaurant open in the evening. No problem as there are plenty of options to eat in the local area. We will go again.
