Perched on the cliff-tops south of Paphos, Aphrodite Hills is one of those resort courses that actually lives up to the scenery. Right, I'll admit it, I'm a sucker for a proper risk-reward par 3 with a view, and Cabell B. Robinson gives you a couple you won't forget in a hurry. The designer spent five years shaping this dramatic layout through olive groves, carob trees and natural ravines, carving a course that works both as a championship test and a holiday round.
The course earned PGA National status in 2017, then followed up with European Golf Resort of the Year in 2018 and recognition from IAGTO as Best Golf Resort in Europe. In 2020, Aphrodite Hills hosted back-to-back tournaments, the Cyprus Open and Cyprus Showdown, each carrying a €1 million prize fund and putting the course firmly on the radar for tour-level golf. The layout can stretch to test professionals, yet multiple tee options keep it accessible and genuinely enjoyable for resort guests of all abilities.
Beyond the golf, the resort offers luxury self-catered villas, townhouses and apartments, a Greco-Roman spa, tennis academy, horse riding school, beach club and a lively Village Square packed with restaurants, bars and shops. It's a destination that works for serious golfers who want a proper championship course with stunning coastal scenery, and for families and larger groups who want flexibility, space and resort amenities without the formality of a hotel.
Who is this for?
Golfers seeking a warm-weather break on a championship course with dramatic cliff-top views, plus families and larger groups who want the flexibility and value of self-catering with five-star facilities on tap.
Who is it best for?
Mid-to-low handicappers who enjoy strategic, visually dramatic golf, and groups or families looking for self-catered accommodation with resort facilities, privacy and outstanding value when sharing.

Recently renovated in 2017, PGA National Cyprus is Cabell B. Robinson doing what he does best, using the land. You'll play across two plateaus, with ravines, lakes and olive groves shaping the strategy rather than just framing the view. From the back tees it's a proper test, but the tee options make it a fair resort round for mixed-ability groups.
The course was built with an eye towards hosting prestigious international tournaments, and it's proved its credentials by staging the PGA Europro Tour Championship in 2010 and, more recently, back-to-back €1 million events in 2020. Set up from the tips, this layout can test even the finest players, but the variety of tees ensures it remains playable and enjoyable for the average visitor. It's a resort course in the best sense, challenging without being punishing, strategic without being tricked up.
Robinson has used the landscape to create a number of standout holes. The short 7th sits at the foot of a gaping ravine, a nerve-testing tee shot that demands precision over power. I'll admit it, the finish here is the bit you remember, that island-style 18th can turn a good card into a great one, or the other way round. The 3rd offers a thrill-of-a-lifetime tee shot for anyone who can carry 200 metres with a driver, a seemingly endless carry over a gorge that's only as far as it looks if you succeed. The 8th and 15th deliver fantastic sea views, while the 12th demands real courage to reach the back pin position. Robinson himself rates the 16th as the toughest par 4 on the course.
The course is supported by a top-quality golf academy, with a double-ended range, dedicated short-game zone and a three-hole academy course for sharpening your skills before or after your round.

If you like your golf holiday with a bit of breathing space, Aphrodite Hills' professionally managed self-catering options are a smart shout. You get the resort facilities on tap, but with the privacy of your own place, which is ideal for groups, families or anyone who doesn't fancy living out of a suitcase in a hotel room.
Accommodation ranges from spacious two-bedroom apartments and townhouses through to five-bedroom luxury villas, all finished to a high standard with air-conditioning, fully equipped kitchens and individual furnishings. Each villa includes a private balcony or terrace, and you can choose between properties with private pools or access to communal pools dotted around the resort.
The real advantage here is value. When you're sharing a villa with a group, you're getting five-star surroundings, championship golf on your doorstep and access to all resort facilities at a price that makes sense. On arrival you'll get a welcome food pack, toiletries, kitchen basics and pool or beach towels. There's also a reception desk open seven days a week, plus discounts at selected Village Square restaurants (excluding Costa Coffee and Häagen-Dazs) and preferential rates for the Retreat Spa, fitness centre and other facilities.
The Village Square is the social hub of Aphrodite Hills, home to a collection of bars and restaurants, plus an ATM, chapel, supermarket, medical centre, gift shops and car rental office. After your round, the Golf Lounge is the natural gathering point, a stylish bar and restaurant where you can replay the day's highlights over a drink and a proper meal.
The Clubhouse Restaurant serves a menu of Cypriot favourites and familiar classics, all delivered in relaxed surroundings with views across the closing holes. For families, the Kids Club and baby crèche cater for children from six months to 12 years, with a full programme of activities, a playground and mini-golf to keep younger guests entertained. The resort also offers a horse riding school, tennis academy, nature walks and an exclusive beach club, ensuring there's plenty to do beyond the fairways.
Leisure facilities include a state-of-the-art Greco-Roman spa that blends ancient wellness traditions with contemporary luxury. The spa features a range of thermal rooms, each designed with a specific purpose: invigorating steam rooms, soothing saunas and spaces built to improve circulation and promote deep relaxation. Treatments draw inspiration from Greco-Roman practices, offering a holistic approach to wellness that complements the physical demands of a few rounds on the course.
Aphrodite Hills Resort is located 15 minutes from Paphos and 55 minutes from Larnaca International Airport.

Great complex and location, having stayed there before!! Weather was lovely, only a couple of complaints!! Our apartment was a long way from the reception and breakfast room , and 2/3 restaurants were shut due to it being early in the season? So the food choice was limited, otherwise lovely 👍

Spacious and tidy apartment although the beds were rock hard! The resort is well laid out with choices for evening meal. Prices for food and drink were reasonable and the build-your-own Burger at the Anoi Pub is worth making a bee-line for.

We had a junior villa with pool on the golf course. Accomodation was clean and well maintained. Low season so most restaurants closed.

Accommodation was lovely (although pillows too hard for me), but eating out on 'semi-all inclusive' was a real hassle, with sometimes only one place to go - Anoi bar. No other restaurants in the 'village' were open, and the Golf Club restaurant was open only 3 nights. The Anoi bar was a very pleasant place, and the staff were really great, but the menu we were offered there was very limited, so to find we had no other options some evenings was disappointing. We had been told we could eat at the hotel buffet every evening, but this was not the case. After a bit of an argument, we manged to eat there a couple of times and it was fine.Overall the system was cumbersome, and we were told different information at each place we asked!
